We are the home of the Spirit Riders 4-H Club.
Our club members are focused on their Horse Project, but you'll
also find them working on their Shooting Sports, Woodworking,
Dog, Cake Decorating, Baking and Cloverbuds.
2007 3rd place float
The theme was "Horns and Hides,
Laughs and Rides - so we were the
Spirit Rider's with our friend the
Ghost Rider. We played Ghost
Rider's in the Sky as we showed
our horns and hides and had
rodeo clowns popping up from the
barrels. The parents all galloped
along the float on stick horses.
2008 1st place float!!!!!!
The theme was "See the Bounty of Larimer County." The kids researched Larimer County and what it has to offer as well as it's history.
They decided to include everything - and I mean EVERYTHING. We had William Larimer, Jr. aboard as we highlighted the railroad going
from the plains to the mountains hauling oil, cattle, horses, and produce (especially sugar beets). The kids decided they needed
representatives from all walks of life in their costuming - native americans, settlers, hikers, farmers, cowboys, bicylists, CSU students -
all of it. Special credit goes to our "look and feel" crew of parents as they brought the vision of the 4-H'ers to reality and dressed it up
with their special engineering and building skills then added our "rocks", "rivers" and sagebrush. The added touch of John Denver's
Rocky Mountain High helped pull the whole thing together.

2009 3rd place float!!!!!!
The theme was "1879-2009, 130 years of Fair Time" We had a club get together and watched 'Back to the Future' on DVD (parents be a
little aware, there is more language than us adults remembered - still a fun movie, though.) We did Back to the Future Larimer County
Style. The car we used is a 1971 Mustang Convertible to honor Mustang Hollow. Doc and Marty were in the car with "Larimer" the dog.
Our time travelers were traveling from an 1879 Fair (complete with fresh baked pies and jams and jellies) to a future Fair, a Virtual Fair
- have you thought there might be 'hover' horses and virtual riding. The clock tower is an historical clock within Loveland and is set up
on the The Ranch arches as the car is skidding into the Rialto theatre. The NO URANIUM mining signs, well of course our time
travelers would not use plutonium after the near tragedy to Doc in the movie. Our blender/flux capicitor is more sustainable. The
music we played.... of course..... Huey Lewis and the News, Back in Time.
